The lack of volunteers has forced the closure of a weekly children’s club.
The Friday Afternoon Club at Briary School, Greenhill, catered for youngsters aged six to 11 from 4.30-6.15pm, offering a range of activities.
But it has closed and organisers say it will not reopen until September at the earliest.
Chief volunteer Ann Edwards said: “It’s a great disappointment to all the children who use it, and to everyone else involved.
“We desperately needed more people but just couldn’t find anyone.
"Now we’re hoping someone comes forward to help so we can open as planned in September.”
Miss Edwards is also keen for volunteers for the weekly youth club in Greenhill, which will continue to operate through the summer apart for a two-week break in late August.
This is open to 11 to 18-year-olds and is held at the Scout Hut in Herne Drive every Thursday from 7pm to 9pm.
Potential volunteers will need to be police checked, which the club can organise.
