Walker rescued after cliff fall

An early morning walker had to be rescued after she fell down a cliff.

The 28-year-old woman was walking along the cliffs at Eastchurch Gap on Sunday.

She fell about 7ft down the side, and Sheppey coastguard deployed a cliff team to come to her aid.

The woman, from Dagenham, was checked over by paramedics.

She suffered bruising but was able to walk from the scene.

It happened at 8.30am and firefighters from Sheppey and Strood assisted the coastguard.
