As veteran disc jockeys go, Johnnie Walker has more tales than most from a life and times spent in radio.
After spending his early days on off-shore pirate stations, he joined Radio 1 but left for criticising the Bay City Rollers at the height of their fame, only to return to the station twice.
He has been a popular DJ on Radio 2 for years but had an extended break for nearly 10 months after being diagnosed with cancer.
Now the presenter of Sound Of The Seventies and In Concert on BBC Radio 2, he will also talk about the music that has influenced him in his one-man show Musical Milestones.
See him at Folkestone’s Quarterhouse on Wednesday, May 25.
