Eating ice cream is far too easy but making it yourself is a totally different matter.
That's what the team of wanabee Alan Sugars found when they were given the task of creating yummy treats at Alastair Jessel’s Bockingfold Farm, Goudhurst.
The candidates were filmed last October trying to conjure up three new flavours of ice cream. The results can be seen in episode five of the hit TV show, The Apprentice, on Wednesday.
Mr Jessel was unimpressed with the finished products - and with the mess the contestants left behind - but thought one of the recipes, a chocolate and orange concoction, was a possible contender.
“Unfortunately they didn’t buy the oranges until 5pm and we closed at 7pm so they didn’t get finished,” he said.
Neither was he impressed with some of the candidates, citing Jenny in particular.
“She told me she was the best saleswoman in Europe,” he said.
Mr Jessel, whose award-winning Taywell ice cream was sold for the first time at Asda on Wednesday under its Best of Kent campaign, was sworn to secrecy about the outcome of the candidates’ task.
The episode will be screened next Wednesday at 9pm on BBC1 followed by an interview with the fired candidate at 10pm on BBC2.
