A STARK warning has been issued by police following a series of attacks at a beauty spot in Gillingham.
Three people have been attacked on the Great Lines in the last couple of weeks and detectives are warning people to take extra care.
On Friday, May 9, a man was walking across the Lines just before 5.30pm when two thugs grabbed him from behind, blindfolded him with a jacket and threw him on the floor.
They took his wallet, credit cards, electronic diary, cash and mobile phone.
Six days earlier another man was assaulted and left with a broken hand when he refused to hand over money. He was approached by two yobs who asked for a cigarette. As he walked away, they knocked him over, demanded money and stamped on his hand.
The first man is described as 19, white, 6ft 2in, of slim build with short brown hair. He was wearing a black jumper with a white line across his chest.
The second man, also 19, was 6ft 2in, of slim build with short wavy blond hair. He was wearing a blue jumper and light blue jeans.
On Saturday, April 12, a young girl was grabbed by three men and had her
purse taken. The purse was eventually found and two men have been charged with robbery.
A spokesman for Medway Police said: "Although the incidents do not seem to
be related, we are asking the public to take great care when crossing the Great Lines."
Anyone with information, is asked to contact Medway Police on 01634 827055 or
