Warning after theft of high voltage generator

KENT Police have issued a warning following a report of a stolen generator from the garden of a house in Canterbury Street, Gillingham.

The incident is reported to have occurred between 8pm on Tuesday and 6.30am on Wednesday.

The Honda generator is valued at around £100 and officers are warning that the item can be dangerous as it has been custom built to create a higher-than-normal voltage.

Det Con Bev Dyer, who is investigating the incident, said: "I would like to ask anyone who may have recently acquired a second-hand generator to contact us if they think that it may be the one reported stolen.

"This item could potentially be lethal if used incorrectly and we are keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us with this investigation."

If you have been offered the generator, or have any information that may help police with this crime, contact DC Dyer on 01634 792521 or Kent CrimeStoppers, free and in confidence, on 0800 555111.
