Drivers were urged to take care after the Met Office issued a weather warning for fog.
Parts of the county were shrouded in thick fog throughout this morning.
Visibility fell to below 100 metres in some places, leading to difficult driving conditions.
But it will lift by early afternoon.
A yellow weather warning was in place from 1am to 11am and covered the south east of England, including Kent.
A Met Office spokesman said: "A ridge of high pressure across much of the UK will lead to clear skies and light winds overnight, a recipe for areas of locally thick fog to develop, which will take until late morning on Saturday to clear in some places."
