Traders and shoppers have been warned to watch out for forged £20 notes in circulation.
The bills, which have appeared across the county, are poor imitations but some have still been fooled by them, police said.
PC Dave Griffiths said: "The notes are poor quality counterfeits and it appears they have been ink-jetted onto low quality paper. Despite this a number of premises have accepted them.
"I urge all retailers to check £20 notes carefully and if they are passed any counterfeits to retain them and contact us."
Some of the recovered duds have the same serial numbers AD75 507125 and some end with 8880.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 01303 289180 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
