Martin Hayes has ordered his Dover side to seize the moment against Farnborough and give the club a day to remember in the FA Cup first round.
A win on Saturday in Hampshire could set up a meeting with former Premier League clubs Charlton or Sheffield Wednesday or even a mouthwatering clash against former manager Andy Hessenthaler’s Gillingham – a prospect Hayes would relish.
"There are some huge clubs in that first round draw, Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton – they’re all big, big sides," said Hayes. "For a non-league club like ourselves, days like these are what dreams are made of.
"You could get a great away day or even the chance to host one of these teams at home. Days like these don’t come around often – we have to seize the moment and give it our all."
Hayes is well aware his side have it in them to beat Farnborough, a 6-3 win over them five weeks ago is testament to that but in the FA Cup anything can happen.
"Farnborough is a massive game and, being at their place, it’ll be tough," he said. "The stakes are huge – you don’t get much bigger than this.
"There’s a chance to play some of the biggest sides in the country on offer and we’ve just got to go out and want it more."
Hayes is hoping Sam Long recovers from a groin injury, while he otherwise has a full squad to choose from.
