A weather warning for heavy rain and possible flooding in Kent has been issued this afternoon.
The Met Office said downpours today and overnight could lead to localised surface water flooding in the county.
Flooding on one lane of the M2 led to a section being closed coastbound, between J5 for Sittingbourne and J6 for Faversham, at about 5pm.
The disruption for motorists comes after high winds led to several trees falling in Kent overnight, causing problems for motorists.
A fallen tree blocked the A291 Canterbury Road, in Herne, between Albion Lane and Lower Herne Road.
Kent Highways warned motorists to approach the area with care after high winds and torrential rain hit the north Kent coast last night.
Drivers have been advised to allow extra time for journeys, with possible delays due to other fallen trees and difficult driving conditions.
Meanwhile, St Julian Road, in Fawke Common, near Sevenoaks, remained closed in both directions.
It was shut yesterday afternoon when a tree fell and damaged power cables.
Yesterday, a snapped tree branch fell on a Peugeot car in Shorncliffe Road, Folkestone - leaving a man in his 30s injured.
