Having your head shaved four weeks before your wedding day isn’t one of the usual prenuptial preparations.
But bride and groom Yvonne Gibson and Alan Brown, from Teston, have done just that - and were joined by other family members in an extraordinary show of solidarity.
Four members of the same family ended up losing their locks at Hair Traditional in Wateringbury in a show of support for Parkinsons sufferer Ann Gibson.
The 62-year-old is in need of Deep Brain Stimulation surgery to treat the disease.
The operation requires her head to be shaven in order to carry out the procedure while she remains conscious.

To support Ann and the charity Parkinsons UK, Yvonne and her brother Philip, 35, father Peter, 65, and partner Alan, 47, all volunteered to have their heads shaved.
Yvonne, 42, who works at a building company, said: I’d like to say a big thank you to Teresa and the salon for their help and for taking part for free.
“Mum was quite anxious about having her hair shaved off, so I decided to do it too as support and to raise money at the same time.”
The Shaveathon comes just four weeks before Yvonne and Alan’s wedding, which was moved forward after the charity event had been planned. However, Yvonne will be wearing a wig on her big day.
Teresa Jones, salon owner at Hair Traditional, said: “We’ve had a collection box in the salon in aid of Parkinsons for the last week, and we donated all of our tips we received on Saturday.”
The family have been collecting donations from all over the country, and it is estimated that the event raised around £500.
