LITTLESTONE’S Chris Reynolds has just returned from an outstanding week at Princes and Deal playing in the British Seniors Open Amateur Championship.

He finished second, two shots behind American Paul Simson, but not only was Chris the top European in the Championship but he also shot the lowest score of 69.

The competition is one of the most prestigious amateur championships in the world and 198 competitors came from every corner of the globe.

Each competitor played one round on Princes and one round at Deal and the top 60 qualified for the final day at Princes.

Chris had a first round score of 72 at Princes where he played in the worst of the day’s weather. The conditions were also against him on the second day for his round at Deal when the wind really strengthened and several putts were missed but despite the elements he carded a 77.

Lying in 6th place going into the last day, Chris reached the turn at two over but then played five under for the second nine, having birdies on the last three holes.

Chris also claimed the Quadricentennial Medal with a 69 at Royal Blackheath as part of the club’s celebrations this year for their 400 years of golf.
