Welling manager Jamie Day had admitted his side's home form needs to start matching their away record.
The Wings have struggled for points - and performances - at Park View Road in recent weeks while outplaying runaway leaders Newport and smashing five past Woking on the road last weekend.
Ahead of two crunch games at home to Bath and then Havant & Waterlooville on successive Saturdays, Day (pictured) is keen to address the situation.
"It's something that we've got to look at and put right," he said.
"When we play away we get more time on the ball. Teams let us play more and give us time.
"When we're at home, we get sucked into how the other team is playing sometimes.
"After the Newport performance, we were serious play-off contenders but a few draws halted it a bit. If we can kick on again and turn draws into wins then we could get in there still."
Day's search for a replacement striker continues this week with Gills forward Andy Pugh, who enjoyed an impressive three-month loan spell at Welling, expected to join a Blue Square Premier club on loan.
The Wings boss is also keen to start keeping his current crop of young stars at the club for next season.
"We've got to start to do it soon, and tie up the ones we want to keep," he said. "We're not stupid, clubs are showing an interest in our players now, probably the younger ones, so we'll have to do our best to keep them for next season."
