Welling United boss Jamie Day admitted he got his tactics wrong in the first half against Bromley on Wednesday night.

The Wings were second best for long periods of the first half in Blue Square Bet South but managed to hold the scores level at half-time before racing to a 3-1 victory after the break.

Goals from Lee Clarke, Loui Fazackerley and Andy Pugh handed Welling their third successive league win.

Day (pictured) admitted: "We went out there to sit off them and it was probably the wrong tactics to go with.

"We felt that we would let them have it and then press when they came into our half and it didn't work.

"We felt we needed to change it at half-time and the players responded. We got it right in the second half and put them under pressure.

"We scored straight away and that always helps."

It also meant the Wings got the three points many thought they deserved three weeks earlier when floodlight failure with two minutes left saw the game abandoned. Welling were leading 2-1 at the time.

"After what happened last time we were disappointed we didn't get the three points," said Day.

"So it was nice to get them officially on the board this time around."
