Forward Loick Pires has turned down Welling's offer of a new deal and signed for newly-promoted Woking.

The 22-year-old former Leyton Orient forward (pictured) hit double figures for the Wings last season and was a prominent member of the squad that reached the Blue Square Bet South play-offs.

However, Pires decided not to sign a new deal at Park View Road and Woking announced his signing on Friday. It means the fee will be decided at a tribunal as the two clubs have yet to come to an agreement.

However, the Wings will be looking for a substantial deal for Pires, who scored their goal of the season against Salisbury and scored a number of spectacular goals, as well as being a key provider.

As part of a three-man attack last season, Pires returned 14 goals from 38 starts for Welling last season and has developed into a highly-rated forward under the management of Jamie Day.

Pires is expected to be joined at Kingfield by Welling skipper Jack Parkinson, who is yet to sign a new deal at Park View Road. However, like Pires, a fee will be involved if Parkinson decides to move on as the player is under 24 and has been re-engaged terms.
