Whitstable Town manager Justin Luchford is awaiting news on Dale Skelton after the midfielder was carried off with an injury in the midweek win against Godalming.
The former Faversham man suffered a serious knee injury in the 2-1 victory and was due to have a scan on Wednesday.
Luchford (pictured) said: "He went into a full-blooded challenge and got caught. It looks as though he suffered cruciate ligament damage and I hope it’s not as bad as it looked.
"It’s a blow for the club and me because he has got better in every game since he arrived from Faversham.
"He is getting married later in the year and hopefully he is able to walk down the aisle. I am gutted and all my thoughts are with him."
Skelton’s injury took the gloss off Whitstable’s best run of the season as three successive wins have pushed them up to 16th in the Ryman League, Division 1 South table.
Luchford said: "It hasn’t been a bad couple of weeks and probably the best 10 days the club has had this season, back-to-back wins against three top 10 sides with play-off pedigree.
"It just shows you the calibre of player we have got at the club this season."
Whitstable are without a game on Saturday but Luchford will have the squad together for a team-bonding exercise. Their next game is on March 17 at home to Walton Casuals.
