A limited edition 2009 calendar is on sale to raise funds for the Save Dreamland Campaign and the Friends of Margate Shell Grotto.

Printed by Margate printer Thanet Press, the calendar features views of Dreamland amusement park and cinema as well as the grotto in years gone by. It is priced at £6.50 each, plus £2.50 post and packing.

The idea started with a request from Thanet Press to journalist Nick Evans to borrow photos for its customer calendar from his large collection of Dreamland memorabilia,.

"I was happy to lend the pictures but wanted some benefit to come from the project and Thanet Press readily agreed to print 200 extra copies to help raise money for both of these worthy causes," said Nick.

"They have done a first class job and I’m sure the calendar will quickly become a collector’s item."

Calendars can be bought at the grotto at weekends between 11am and 4pm until Christmas, or by mail order to Calendar Offer, Margate Shell Grotto, Grotto Hill, Margate CT9 2BU.
