Widow dies in tractor accident

ARTIST Jill Pezare has been crushed to death by a tractor three months after the death of her beloved husband Walter to cancer at the age of 91.

Mrs Pezare, 53, was found dead with multiple injuries on the Bayham estate, Lamberhurst, where she lived alone in a cottage.

Walter Pezare - known locally as Pez - met his wife-to-be in 1963 when he taught graphic design at Bromley College of Art, where she was a student. He was a well-known artist, head teacher of Worcester School of Art in the late 1930s and senior graphics officer at the Ministry of Defence during the 1950s.

The couple married in 1974 and moved to Lamberhurst shortly afterwards when Mr Pezare retired. Mrs Pezare said after his death: "We had the same ideas about things. He was a great listener, a wise person, fun to be with and a great teacher."
