Singer Will Young has been added to this summer’s concerts at Rochester Castle.
Medway Council confirmed the news after it was exclusively revealed in Monday's Medway Messenger newspaper.
The acclaimed singer songwriter, who shot to fame after winning ITV’s Pop Idol eight years ago, will be appearing in Medway for the first time on Thursday, July 15.
Will has sold more than eight million records worldwide and is the proud owner of two BRIT awards, including Best British Single for Your Game. His latest album, entitled The Hits, a collection of his best known singles has reached platinum status.
This is one of a number of his summer performances around the UK this year. Tickets for Will Young's concert will go on sale at 10am on Monday, March 1.
Other acts confirmed so far include Status Quo, who will kick off the concerts on July 14, and the return of The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra for the Castle Proms (£29.50) on the final night of the concerts, July 17.
One more act, to perform on Friday, July 16, will be announced shortly.
