A yellow wind warning is in place as drivers are urged to exercise caution on the county's roads this afternoon.
Strong winds of up to 60mph are forecast to hit the hills and coasts of Kent with gusts directed inland.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning which is expected to last until 6pm.
A road was closed in both directions earlier between Camp Hill, in Tonbridge and Hale Oak Road after a free fell and knocked out the local phone lines .
The Met Office has warned drivers that some damage to trees could occur, leading to debris on the roads. Temporary power disruptions are also predicted.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service has also urged drivers to exercise caution when out and about on the roads today.
It said: "If you're set to be driving this afternoon, please drive to the conditions, taking the wind into account and adjusting your speed accordingly."
Meanwhile huge crashing waves have been captured along the coast at Folkestone.
