CELEBRITY couple Kelly Brook and Billy Zane’s hopes of a quiet life in the country were shattered when a row broke out with the previous owners of their new home.

Rick and Valerie McBride, the former occupants of the country mansion near Lenham, claim that £15,000 worth of statues, plants and garden ornaments still at the property actually belong to them.

Removal men were sent to the house on Thursday, but the American film star and the Medway-born actress and model refused to let them in. They claim they thought the items came with the property.

Miss Brook, 27, said: "This was the house where we were supposed to start a family."

Mr Zane, 40, added: "They’re trying to take the house stone by stone."

Mr McBride, 80, arrived later and admitted he was trying to take away some of the stones.
