POLICE are hunting a man who indecently assaulted a woman as she made her way home from a night out.
The slightly-built man slapped her bottom and made a sexual comment as she walked along Rochester High Street on her way to find a taxi after leaving the Casino Rooms in Blue Boar Lane.
Later he threatened to rape her as he pinned her to the floor after she tried to run away from him in the early hours of the morning on July 17.
After the first encounter, she pushed him away and headed back towards Star Hill to try to avoid him. She entered the Star Grill to buy a burger but as she left the takeaway and walked up Star Hill, the man approached her again.
He walked with her along New Road towards Chatham when he snatched a mobile ‘phone from her hand. She shouted at him but he grabbed her cardigan and pulled her along the road. The 34-year-old woman ran away but he caught up with her at Jackson Field, pulled her to the ground and punched and kicked her.
The woman fought him off and ran down the hill towards New Road where he pulled her on to the grass bank and threatened to rape her. The woman got away again and managed to get a motorist to stop and call police for her.
The man is described as 25-30 with very pale skin, 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall with dark brown hair.
The victim is African/Caribbean, 5ft 2in with black hair. She was wearing black trousers, top and cardigan.
