Witnesses sought after 'machete' attack in pub

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 22-year-old man was assaulted with what is thought to be a machete in a public house.

The incident took place at the Talk of the Town pub in Leysdown-on-Sea on Wednesday, September 15, between 6.30pm and 7.35pm.

A police spokeswoman said: "The victim was drinking in the pub when a man entered the premises and swung what is thought to be a machete.

"The victim suffered a laceration to his thumb which needed stitches. The offender left in a burgundy coloured Vauxhall Vectra."

A 40-year-old man from Sheerness has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
