A woman has died after her car hit a tree in Canterbury last night.

The driver, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene. She is thought to be from the Canterbury area.

The red Mini collided with a tree in Littlebourne Road at around 6pm yesterday.

Police were called to the scene at 6.10pm and a road closure was put in place in Littlebourne Road at the junction of Stodmarsh Road to Evenhill Road until about 10pm, while officers from the Kent Police serious collision investigation unit carried out an investigation.
