Police revealed more details today of a terrifying double-crash that killed a 90-year-old woman and paralysed a town centre.
Officers said the female driver of a car involved has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving in Tonbridge.
It follows a tragic two-car smash that caused chaos at around 11.22am in the town's High Street, just outside its railway station.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "A collision occurred between a black Rover and a blue Ford Fiesta while the cars were outside the rail station.
"Three women from both cars were then standing near the vehicles when they were involved in a further collision.
"This second incident resulted in the death of a 90-year-old woman from Tunbridge Wells. The third woman was uninjured.
"A woman driving the Rover car was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has since been given police bail while an investigation is carried out by Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit."
