A woman has been released on bail after the discovery of a body in a flat at Herne Bay seafront.

Police were called to Central Parade at 10.30am on Saturday where they found the body of a 39-year-old local man with serious injuries.

They are treating the death as suspicious and arrested a 36-year-old woman. She's now been released pending further inquiries.

Forensic and scenes of crime officers spent much of Saturday at the flat, which occupies the top two floors of the building.

A post-mortem examination was scheduled to be carried out yesterday to find out how he died.

A single bunch of flowers in a glass has been placed at the foot of the steps leading to the building's front door.
