A woman has been charged with child neglect after a house fire which could have killed her two young children.

Dawn Samwell of Upper Clapton Road, Hackney has been charged with two counts of child neglect and has been bailed to appear at Maidstone magistrates on April 15.

She was arrested shortly after the fire in Knaves Acre, Headcorn on February 22.

Her children were saved from the blaze by neighbours Anthony and Sarah-Jo Vane and Laura-Dee Jefferson.
