FIREFIGHTERS cut a woman free from a car which crashed into the central reservation of a main road in the county.
The woman was trapped in her Renault Clio after the accident just before 8am on the Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A249, at the top of Detling Hill.
Firefighters from Maidstone used hydraulic cutting equipment to free her and she was taken to Maidstone Hospital with back injuries, which were not thought to be serious.
Motorists heading along the road towards Maidstone were caught in traffic jams while the emergency services worked at the scene. The road was re-opened within an hour.
