Woman dead and two hurt after village crash

A YOUNG woman was killed and two others injured in a road accident in a Kent village.

Police have confirmed a 24-year old woman died at the scene of the crash in Main Road, Cooling, near Rochester.

Two other people - a 22-year old man and a 29-year woman were injured in the smash, which happened at around 10am on Sunday.

Both were taken to the Medway Maritime Hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Kent Air Ambulance were called to the scene along with firefighters from Strood, Medway and Cliffe.

The three people had to cut free from a BMW car. The road was closed for several hours.
