A woman has died after the vehicle she was travelling in lost control and crashed into a parked car in Folkestone.

A gold Fiat Punto was being driven along Coniston Road at around 4.45pm on Friday when it collided with an unoccupied silver BMW.

The female passenger of the Punto was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man driving the car was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, where he was treated for minor injuries.

The crash is being investigated by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Kent Police.
