THE body of a woman was found after firefighters put out a blaze at a house in Kent.

The fire at the property on the corner of Howells Close and Multon Road, West Kingsdown, was reported shortly after 11.30am on Saturday.

A number of people were rescued from the building by firefighters, but the body of a woman believed to be in her 50s was discovered inside later.

The cause of the fire is being investigated and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 01732 771055.
