Woman escapes house blaze

A WOMAN fled from her house after her TV caught fire and flames engulfed her living room.

The householder, from Hillside, Darenth, near Dartford, had gone upstairs when the TV stopped working and the blaze then broke out, on Friday evening.

She managed to get out unhurt and alerted neighbours who called the fire brigade.

Firefighters had to use breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze as the house was smoke-logged.

The room was wrecked by flames and firefighters believe the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the TV.
