A woman is fighting for her life after a lorry and a car collided.

The accident happened on the Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A249 near the Stockbury roundabout at about 12.40pm.

The car driver was taken to hospital with injuries which the police describe as life-threatening.

The road has now reopened.
