DETECTIVES are treating an attack on a man in Windmill Road, Gillingham, as attempted murder.

The man, aged 46, was found with multiple stab wounds early on Saturday morning and taken to Gillingham's Medway Maritime Hospital where his condition was said to be serious but not life-threatening.

A police spokesman said that for a while it was “touch and go” whether he would survive.

A woman has since been arrested in connection with the incident.
