Woman hurt after car overturns on country lane

A woman needed hospital treatment after her car overturned.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Rectory Road and Buckland Road, Cliffe at 8am on Monday.

The response included two fire engines from Strood and a retained crew from Cliffe, ambulance, police and the Kent air-ambulance.

Police reported one female casualty, who has been taken to hospital, but her injuries were not thought serious.

One resident who witnessed the rescue operation, said: "We heard an ambulance come racing past.

"When we looked out there was a car on its roof.

"It's only a small lane, I don't know how it happened."

Delays were also caused during Monday's rush hour by broken down vehicles at Blue Bell Hill and the A289 Wainscott bypass.
