A woman has been taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after falling into a quarry in north Kent yesterday.

Firefighters were called to the quarry near Knockhall Road, Greenhithe, at about 10pm after reports that two women had plunged off the edge.

Six appliances were sent to the scene to rescue them, although one of the women was able to get herself out and suffered only minor injuries.
