Woman hurt as car plunges 30ft

A WOMAN was injured when a car in which she was a passenger fell abo 30ft onto concrete. The BMW was driving along The Paragon, in Ramsgate, at 10.45pm on Sunday when the driver lost control on a bend. The car left the road, hit some bollards and crashed through the fence of Ramsgate Motor Museum, which is housed in a former theatre cut into the cliff.

It landed outside the entrance to the museum, 30 feet below, on its front bumper. The female passenger was taken the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, with minor injuries.

The driver had already fled the scene when the emergency services arrived. He later contacted police and is believed be only slightly hurt.
