Woman hurt in caravan blaze

A woman was rushed to hospital with burns after a fire at a caravan park.

Firefighters attended the blaze at Warden Springs Holiday Park in Thornhill Road, Warden, at 12.45am on Sunday.

The 45-year-old woman was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with burns to her arms and neck.

Her injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

A fire crew from Eastchurch and one from Sheppey took two hours to tackle the blaze, which completely destroyed the caravan.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but fire crews are not treating it as suspicious.
