Woman hurt in motorway accident

Rush-hour motorists faced delays on the M20 earlier this morning after an accident involving a car and a foreign-registered lorry.

The accident happened at about 6am on the hard shoulder of the London-bound carriageway just after junction 4(Leybourne/West Malling).

The car driver was freed from her vehicle by Larkfield firefighters and she was taken to hospital with slight injuries.

One lane of the motorway was closed while emergency services were at the scene, causing traffic tailbacks. It was re-opened just before 8am.
