Woman injured as car overturns on M2

A woman was airlifted to hospital after a crash on the M2 near Faversham on Monday morning.

A Peugeot 206 overturned on the coast-bound carriageway just after 9am. No other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed at junction 5 (Detling) and traffic diverted onto the A249. It has now reopened.

The cause of the collision is unknown at this time.

The woman was taken to hospital by Kent Air Ambulance. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
