A WOMAN was taken to hospital after her van slid down an embankment at Four Elms Hill at Chattenden, near Rochester.

Emergency services called to the scene discovered that the commercial van was perilously perched down the embankment. The fire crews helped secure the van.

The drama began at about 10am on Saturday and was the situation was under control within about an hour.

The woman was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital at Gillingham with internal injuries.
