A FEMALE pedestrian died after being knocked down by a truck on Tuesday morning.

The accident took place at about 9.30am on York Street, Broadstairs, and the road was closed while the Kent Serious Collision Investigation Unit examined the scene.

The woman who died was in her 60s.
