AIR accident invesitgators are today at the scene of a light aircraft crash in which one person was killed.

Police have confirmed that a woman suffered fatal injuries when the plane came down in a field shortly before 3pm yesterday.

A man who was also on board was taken to hospital after the crash on Fridd Farm at Bethersden, near Ashford.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

It has been confirmed that the aircraft was heading to France and came down soon after take off.
