Woman on murder bid charge

A 61-year-old woman is due in court today accused of attempted murder.

Alethea Foster, of Warren Avenue, Bromley, has been charged by police with stabbing a 44-year-old student at Cambridge University’s Lucy Cavendish College on Monday.

The victim suffered serious stab wounds and underwent surgery at a nearby hospital. She was said to be in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

Foster was due to appear before magistrates in Cambridge.
