Woman pedestrian struck by car

POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a road accident at Minster, near Ramsgate, in which a 68-year-old woman was seriously hurt. The woman, who lives locally, was walking her dog along Foxborough Lane, near the junction with Bedlam Court Lane, at about 1.10pm yesterday when she was struck by a maroon Vauxhall Nova driven by a Ramsgate man.

The injured woman was taken to the Queen Mother Hospital at Margate with a broken leg and possible internal injuries.

Police particularly want to speak to the driver of a blue pick-up truck seen nearby shortly before the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Richard Bailey in the traffic division on Thanet 222124.
