Woman punched in terrifying park attack

POLICE are appealing for help after a woman was grabbed and punched as she walked through a public park.

The incident happened in Luton Recreation ground, Beacon Road, Luton, Chatham, at around 5.30pm on Monday.

The victim, aged in her 30s, was walking in the area when a man approached from behind and punched her.

He grabbed her but the victim fought back and ran away back to her car which was parked nearby.

The man is described as being white, in his 30s, around 6' tall and slim. He was wearing a grey zip up hooded top, with the hood up and a dark coloured woollen hat underneath.

He also wore dark-coloured jogging bottoms with a pattern down the side and white trainers. He is described as having a long nose.

PC Daniel Bister, from Kent Police, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that will help with our investigation.

"We have a good description of the suspect and I would ask people to take note of it and contact us if they think they can identify him."
