A woman was rushed to hospital this morning after flipping her car near Faversham.

Fire crews cut the woman from the wreckage of her mangled Audi after it overturned at Brenley Corner on the Thanet Way.

She is believed to have suffered injuries to her hand, but the severity of her condition is not yet known.

The woman, described as of retirement age, was travelling home from the airport towards Herne Bay when the accident happened shortly after 10am.

The slip-road from the Brenley Corner roundabout onto the A299 Thanet Way was shut for two hours so the car could be recovered.

The woman was the only person in the car and no one else was injured.
