Woman rescued from car crash

AN ELDERLY woman had to be cut free from a car after a road accident in Sidcup on Sunday.

The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was trapped in the front passenger seat of a Rover after it had collided with a Vauxhall in Sidcup Hill at 7.30pm.

Firefighers from Sidcup, Orpington and Bexley fire stations took 45 minutes to remove the doors of the car and pull the woman clear.

She was taken to Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup, by ambulance along with a woman passenger who was suffering from whiplash.

A man and woman in the other car are believed to have been arrested by officers after fleeing the scene of the crash.
