Woman rescued from sea in Sheerness

A woman was taken out the sea on Wednesday afternoon by police.

The 30-year-old was taken by ambulance to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham where she is recovering.

It happened near Alma Road, Sheerness, at 4.45pm.

The Kent Air Ambulance circled low over Sheerness for about 10 minutes while the police and land ambulance crews dealt with the incident.
