Woman robbed as she stepped out of car

Police are appealing for help after a woman had a handbag snatched as she stepped out of her car.

The incident happened at about 10.45am last Fridayin Lansdowne Road, Chatham. The suspect ran off and escaped down an alleyway.

PC Debra Trowell, who is leading the investigation, said:"We are keen to hear from anyone that may have seen something at the time the incident occurred.

"We believe that another man may have been waiting for the suspect at the junction of Roseberry Road and Lansdowne Road as it is reported they ran off together."

The suspect is described as being 6ft and wearing black or dark-coloured hooded top and trousers.
